The Artist Collection is comprised
of limited availability, uncommon varietal offerings, and showcases
the uniqueness of the grower, the winemaker and the wines themselves
in what the winery calls a “coalescence of the arts."

2005 Viognier
Viognier is an exotic wine: one with the body of Chardonnay but
the flavors of Riesling and/or Muscat. It has an intense aroma of
peach, pineapple, and honeysuckle, and its generous palate impression
and rich flavors.

2004 White Burgundy
It is Chardonnay-like, but racier. It is voluptuous
in texture, full-bodied, very finely favored (peach, pear, vanilla,
hazelnut, lemon peel, pineapple, toast), long on the palate, and
persistent on the finish.

2004 Tempranillo
With character traits of dark, lush blackberry and a hint of minerality
this complex wine is ideally suited for pairing with spring lamb,
hearty stews and your favorite poultry dishes.

2004 Sangiovese
Most Sangioveses produced in California’s coastal districts
are closer in style to Italian versions made in the Montalcino zone
or on the Maremma coast than those made in Chianti (that is, they
are firmer, somewhat richer wines--like this one). It is a supple,
full-bodied, ripely flavored wine, that is moderately rich, and
long on the finish. It tastes of plum, black cherry, toast, oak,
and tobacco. Enjoy with coq au vin (chicken and wine casserole),
barbecued pork, and beef stew. |

2003 Cabernet
Franc
It is a supple, full bodied wine, with complex flavors (dark chocolate,
toast, black cherry, black currant), good balance, and a long finish.
The tannins are only moderate in intensity, and this wine will likely
be at its best from 3 to 6 years from now.

2003 Petit Verdot
It is opaque in color, rich and nearly robust
in flavor (blackberry, plum, leather, toasted oak), and long and
tannic on the finish.

2003 Malbec
This bottling is classic Malbec: darkly colored, very distinct in
aroma and flavor (dark plum, blueberry, tobacco, sweet pepper),
fleshy in texture, and long on the finish. It is mildly oaky, and
well balanced.

NV WOW Red
Small lots from select vineyards around the state
underwent a gentle regimen of cold-soaking, hand punchdowns and
extended maceration to optimize the soft tannins in this wine. Components
were selected barrel-by-barrel and aged separately in a combination
of French and American oak for 16 months. This complex, supple,
aromatic blend boasts a rich, multi-faceted nose of blueberry, cedar,
spicy oak and cherry and is equally intense and velvety on the palate.
