Vintage
Oregon's 1999 growing season was comprised of a very cool summer followed by a warm and sunny September and October. The Oregon rain can often present an extraordinary challenge in promoting fully ripe grapes, however in 1999 the Indian summer allowed an extra 3-4 weeks of hang time, which intensified the aromas and flavors and gave us an exceptional Pinot Gris harvest, picked on October 18th.

Vinification
The fruit was hand sorted in the vineyard and whole cluster pressed. Press cuttings—a process by which we separate out the last 10 -15% of the pressed juice, which tends to be high in acids and tannins—were taken to preserve good fruit and acid balance. The wine was tankl fermented and aged sur lie for four months to round out the mouthfeel before bottling in March of 2000. 12.7%alc., 3.5pH, .57TA, .34RS. 536 cases were produced.

Tasting Notes
Citrus, pink grapefruit and melon notes highlight the nose and palate. This Pinot Gris has a pleasantly off-dry, round mouthfeel and is a perfect companion to light fruit salads and deserts. Drink now and for the next 1-2 years.
